The JCTO is now fully staffed and is comprised of a team of Clinical Trial Facilitators, Clinical Trial Agreements Associates and a Quality Group comprising a Quality Manager, Clinical Research Associates and Training Executives. These additions have already resulted in significant improvements for partner institutions and commercial sponsors including; increasing the speed and quality of negotiation and sign off of agreements and budgets, providing transparent pricing of trials and distribution of income, efficiency of tracking and invoicing of trials, delivery of quality processes for commercial and non-commercial trials, and enhancing the delivery of sponsor responsibilities for non-commercial trials.
Over the last six months of 2007 the activity of the JCTO has resulted in a 67% reduction in the average time it takes from first approach by a commercial sponsor to the issuing of R&D approval with some trials taking as little as four weeks. The JCTO team are committed to continuing to drive down the time taken for trial set-up processes to be completed.
